Al B
Veteran soul and funk Dj Al Bendall AKA Al B is still very much active in his home city of Bristol’s soul scene and says he has no plans to quit yet. It all started when he walked in to a bar during the late 70’s and heard Movin’ by Brass Construction and immediately fell in love with the funk. He started DJ'ing in 1979 and had his first residency at a Bristol nightclub called The Turntable.
Fast forward to now, where he co-promotes and DJ’s at the popular“Soul City” club night in Bristol.
Highlights include working alongside the legendary Roy Ayers, dj-ing in Ibiza, Marbella and Tenerife, appearing at the Craig Charles Funk and Soul Show and at Funky Nation upstairs at the world famous Ronnie Scotts, London.
Al has been a radio presenter for over 15 years on FM, DAB and internet radio stations playing mostly original 70’s and 80’s Funk, Jazz Funk, Soul and Disco classics.
