Simon van Os (also known as SvO) has been a DJ for over 30 years. He began his DJing career in the late 80s in bars, pubs, night clubs, and roller discos across the South of England while learning his trade. He progressed into becoming a resident DJ for Luminar/Deltic Leisure, playing at their venues all over the UK including Oceana Brighton, Southampton and Watford, Liquid Windsor, Basingstoke and Sutton and Batchwood Hall for over 10 years. Through the 90s, Simon also was a regular booking at raves and clubs in London and throughout the country. He became well-known on the soul scene in the mid-90s and was soon headhunted to join Caister Soul Weekender as their Hip Hop, New Jack Swing and House DJ. Since then Simon has expanded his musical repertoire and regularly plays soul, funk, RnB, house of all varieties, hip hop, garage and more. Over the last 10 years, Simon has been a popular DJ at some of the biggest events across the globe, such as Great Yarmouth Soul Weekender, Margate Soul Festival, Bug Jam, Overdose of Joy, Kent Soul Sessions.and many more. He also regularly plays at several overseas events including Summer Breeze in Corfu, Malta Soul & Reggae, Lagoona Soul in Turkey, Cyprus Soul, Soulanza in Lanzarote and Mysterium in Malta. Simon has organised many of his own gigs including club nights and all-dayers as well as several charity events through his own Simon Says Shut Up & Dance, Sundaze and Where House Lives brands. He has also been a well-known voice on the radio for over 10 years, including weekly shows for Radio One Mallorca, SoulBeat Radio and Zero Radio. He was the Breakfast Show presenter on Solar Radio for 3 years before leaving to join Soul Music Radio as their Breakfast Show presenter. SvO has DJd and supported the likes of The David Gest Legends of Motown Tour and has also played alongside Shalamar, Odyssey, Jean Carn, Billy Paul, Freda Payne, CeCe Peniston, Beverley Knight, Shola Ama, Incognito, Phil Fearon, Coolio, So Solid Crew, Misteeq, Baby-D and many more. He has also DJd at several major events supporting GrandMaster Flash, DJ Yoda, Fatboy Slim and Mr Thing. Simon can be heard on Streetsounds Radio every Sunday evening from 6pm for his “SUNDAZE” show.
