Meet Tez Barnes. With over 42 years of DJ experience and more than 40 years behind the microphone as a radio presenter, Tez has built a lifelong passion for music. His journey began DJing in the pubs and clubs of South East London's Old Kent Road before quickly progressing to some of London's most iconic West End venues, including Vogue, Hombres, Limelight, Taboo and Shoom. Around the same time, Tez became a familiar voice on the pirate radio scene, broadcasting on stations such as JFM, LWR, Switch and several others, before making the move into legal radio with GCRM in Greenwich and RTM in Thamesmead. For Tez, the 1980s will always be the greatest decade for club and dance music. It was an era that delivered an incredible mix of Soul, Funk, Electro, Jazz Funk, Boogie, Freestyle, Chicago House, Detroit Garage and Hip Hop. More importantly, it was a groundbreaking period that saw the birth of so many new musical genres, creating a soundtrack that continues to inspire DJs and music lovers around the world.
