Chas Summers

With over 41 years of experience behind the decks, Chas Summers is a true veteran of the UK music scene. His musical knowledge spans a wide range of genres, but his heart beats strongest for the timeless sounds of ’70s and ’80s Soul, Jazz, Funk, Disco and Boogie.

Chas’s journey began in the 1980s, listening to the pirate radio stations that provided the soundtrack to a generation, including JFM, Solar, Trax FM, LWR, KISS and Invicta.

Inspired by pioneering DJs such as Les Adams and Froggy the Mixmaster, Chas became fascinated by the art of mixing — a passion that would help shape his own distinctive style behind the decks.

Over the years, Chas has built an impressive career on the London club scene, including decade-long residencies at some of the capital’s best-known venues, including the original Cheers Bar, Bar Rumba, Strawberry Moons and the Hammersmith Palais.

A passionate vinyl collector, Chas spent countless hours digging through crates in legendary record shops such as Record Exchange, Blue Bird Records, Groove Records and Record Centre in Rayners Lane, always searching for that next essential track.

That crate-digging mentality remains with him today.

Moving into the digital era has given Chas another creative outlet through his own exclusive remixes, edits and “re-visits” — carefully reimagined versions of classic ’80s tracks that remain respectful to the originals while adding a fresh, modern edge.

His distinctive mixing style and exclusive productions have become an important part of his sets, bringing something unique to every dancefloor he plays.

Throughout his career, Chas has had the honour of warming up for an incredible selection of legendary artists, including The Fatback Band, The Real Thing, Kenny Thomas, Odyssey, Aswad, Sybil, Loose Ends, Alexander O’Neal, Jocelyn Brown and Heatwave, to name just a few.

In 2025 & 2026, Chas took his sound to the award-winning Summer Breeze in Corfu and also performed on the main stage at the Margate Soul Weekender, further cementing his reputation on the Soul, Funk and Boogie DJ circuit.

Whether he’s behind the decks at a live event or digging deep into his collection for the radio, Chas brings the same ingredients every time, musical knowledge, creativity, exclusive mixes and an undeniable passion for the music.
