Growing up in the early 1980s, Clint Tee’s ears were tuned to the sounds of Soul, Funk, Disco and theraw energy of Electro, inspired by legendary broadcasters such as Mike Allen lighting up the airwaves.

Breakdancing provided Clint’s first real connection with the emerging culture, opening the door to Hip Hop, Electro and Rare Groove and beginning what would become a lifelong passion for music.

For Clint, the 1980s laid the foundations for everything that followed. It was a decade of groundbreaking records, cultural change and the birth and evolution of genres that would ultimately influence music around the world.

At just 14 years old, Clint began DJing at parties, learning his craft behind the decks and discovering something every great DJ understands — the incredible feeling of choosing the right record at the right moment and moving a crowd.

As House music emerged towards the end of the decade, Clint naturally followed the evolving sound into London’s club scene, DJing at venues including The Wag Club, Gass Club and Club Koo, among many others.

By 1988, another chapter had begun when Clint took his musical selections onto pirate radio, giving him the opportunity to share the music that had shaped his life with an even wider audience.

Decades later, that fire still burns and Clint is still on the airwaves today.

His musical philosophy is simple but deeply personal:

Music is more than a soundtrack, it’s a journey. A complex, soulful journey. It’s my life, my passion and my gift to you.

On Street Sounds Radio, Clint brings that philosophy to Release The Groove, taking listeners on a journey through the music he loves, drawing on decades of knowledge, experience and passion.
