Graham England

Growing up in and around Surrey, Graham England’s passion for DJing started early, at just 12 years old.
From the beginning, Soul, Funk, Disco, Electro and Reggae were the sounds that captured his imagination. During the 1980s, that passion was fuelled by two hugely influential forces: Street Sounds records and pirate radio.
As his experience behind the decks grew, Graham became resident DJ at the John Bull in Chiswick and also took to the airwaves, presenting shows on Queen Mary’s Broadcasting Service in Roehampton.
Then, in 1999, life took Graham in a completely new direction when he and his family packed their bags and moved across the Atlantic to the United States. Today, he lives in Loveland, Colorado, just outside Denver, but his love for the music that started it all has never left him.
For the past decade, Graham has been broadcasting his England Beatbox radio show, delivering a carefully selected mix of the very best ’80s dance, rare grooves and exclusive DMC mixes.
What began as a Mixcloud podcast steadily gained a following and eventually made its way onto radio stations including DiscoSender, Novum FM and DanceGroove Radio.
Now, Graham has achieved what he describes as his ultimate dream, joining Street Sounds Radio, the very name that played such an important part in inspiring his musical journey all those years ago.
Graham’s shows bring together the best of both worlds, combining pure vinyl with digital selections, while always leaving room for a few unexpected surprises along the way.
From a 12-year-old DJ discovering Street Sounds in Surrey to broadcasting from Colorado as part of the Street Sounds Radio family, Graham’s journey has come full circle.
Expect great music, rare grooves, classic dance cuts and plenty of surprises with Graham England on Street Sounds Radio.
