Wayne C McDonald

Wayne C McDonald is a pioneering Black music DJ and broadcaster whose career has been driven by a passion for discovering, championing and sharing great music.

Now based in Newcastle upon Tyne, Wayne made his name on the UK R&B circuit, becoming a familiar figure at groundbreaking clubs and events including the Southport Weekender, Pacha and LoveDough.

Behind the microphone, Wayne’s hugely influential radio shows have earned him international recognition as a tastemaker and passionate supporter of emerging Black music talent. His instinct for identifying new sounds and artists has remained a defining part of his broadcasting style throughout his career.

Wayne’s musical experience extends far beyond the DJ booth and radio studio. As a former producer, songwriter and rapper, he has worked with an impressive roster of international artists including Jessie J, Busta Rhymes, Musiq Soulchild, John Legend, Usher, Guy and Elephant Man.

Never one to stand still creatively, Wayne has also turned his attention to acting, making his London Fringe debut playing Dennis in Dennis of Penge, another chapter in an already diverse creative career.
